Junior UX/UI Designer
- Skills
- Learning the core practice of UX design: wireframes, prototypes, research, documentation
- Knows the basic workflow and assists with design operations of the team
- Ownership
- Able to get direction from senior designers or product managers
- Owns designs for clearly designed, lower complexity projects
- Collaboration
- Requires more onboarding and clear direction
- Gets and utilizes design feedback
- The limited scope of stakeholders to handle
Mid-level UX/UI Designer
- Skills
- Fluent in the UX process
- Makes designs defensible with user research and other tools
- Do documentation from the designs
- Ownership
- Own design for several features and mid-sized projects
- Influences some product metrics (KPIs)
- Collaboration
- Knows when to involve stakeholders
- Articulates design decisions
- Anticipates feedback
Senior UX/UI Designer
- Skills
- Mastery of UX process and toolkit (prefer Figma with hand-sketch)
- Design holistic experiences with a strategy
- Uses frameworks and hypothesis-based approach
- Do documentation from the designs
- Ownership
- Tackles undefined, complex projects
- Leads project from beginning to end
- Own and influence key metrics
- Build design team with HR team supporting
- Ownership
- Drives alignment via design facilitation and presentation skills
- Synthesizes multiple inputs and feedback from stakeholders into a cohesive approach
- Mentor junior designers and onboards others onto projects
